Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - VFN102 - 05-14-2011 Here are a few from Fluvanna County which I shot a couple of weeks ago. I thought I had a picture of Co. 1 (Palmyra), but apparently not! Hopefully someone else will post that one. This is the current building for Co. 2 (Fork Union). The Chief told me they hope to break ground on the new station in November. Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - VFN102 - 05-14-2011 And here is Co. 3 (Kents Store). As you can tell, this is a fairly new facility with 3 drive thru bays. Chris Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - Truckman - 05-15-2011 Back in November 2010, several firepicers went tp Prince Edward County VA to shoot a few photos. This is the Meherrin, VA Company 5 house. My photo. Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - Truckman - 05-15-2011 While out, we stopped by Darlington Heights, VA Company 6 and caught their apparatus and the house. Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - Truckman - 05-15-2011 Likewise on up the road, we got the Hampden-Sydney, VA Company 2's apparatus and house. Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - Guest - 06-07-2012 Some stations shot recently in Fauquier and Warren Counties (in between train photography). All images by me. The Plains I shot this station 20 years ago, while the building is unchanged, the apparatus fleet was certainly more diverse back then. Does this co. still run a rescue squad? Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - Guest - 06-07-2012 Linden, this outfit has certainly come a long way with their apparatus fleet. [/quote] They no longer provide Rescue Squad service, as they sold the rig to a department in West Virginia that serves the area around the Snow Shoe Ski Resort, if my memory serves me correctly. Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - Guest - 06-08-2012 Thanks, I scanned the 1991 print, the main difference in the building is all 3 bay doors are now the same, also the 1976 Ford C/E-1 engine is in a large open-sided shed just before the RT55 RRxing, on the south side. 1991 Kodak print by Warren Jenkins Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - BFD1151 - 12-08-2012 City of Galax Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - BFD1151 - 12-08-2012 Town of Hillsville Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - BFD1151 - 12-08-2012 Hillsville-Laurel substation Around the Commonwealth of Virginia - BFD1151 - 12-08-2012 Independence |
