Growing up in a rural area , I always thought how hard it must have been before they had a truck that could carry water to the scene of a fire . There are some departments that have never had to worry about having a water supply . Big cities usually have great hydrant systems and carrying water on a engine is often a waste of space or added weight to the truck , but when it comes to mutual aid to a rural areas they are lost often not even carrying suction hose to draft . Most departments in rural areas often have at least one tanker that supplies the engines and aerials at a fire . I thought it would be nice to have this section to show past and current water supply tankers , tenders or tanker / pumpers .

First example : Howells, New York once ran this 1967 International/ Amthor tanker - 1650 gallon tank

Promike; nices pics and an excellent topic. Would you happen to have a pic of this unit that shows the front mount pump from a better angle? Thanks, and more, please! Whats the large crank wheel on the body for, just after the pump panel area about suction level? I was thinking an oversized tank to pump valve that was slow action to get more water to the pump.

Are you sure your not looking at the docking light just in front of the side dump chute? OK forget this comment, I was looking at the second Otisville unit.
