Recent vacation to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon AZ - ACPD227 - 10-30-2016

I just got back from a family vacation to Las Vegas, NV and Grand Canyon, AZ.Here are a few shots that I got. I tried to get good shots but in the end I had to get what I could when I could.

We took a Bus trip to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon West. I got a few shots while our bus passed the Lake Mohave Ranchos fire District station on the side of the road.

Pointing out the back Was Engine 2.

Next stop was at the Hualapai Nation Ranch where we got off of our us and onto shuttles that took us to the Grand Canyon. The Ambulance and Engine were at the terminal on a medical call. If I was a betting man Id say this was an Ex LAFD ambulance.

Next the Kenworth engine not sure on the brand but it had mud flaps on the rear that listed a fire truck dealer in Cullman AL.

Next was a small Fire station about 100 feet away from the Terminal that serviced the sight seeing airstrip. The ambulance was sitting behind the station. MB / Wheeled Coach.

Next on the Air stripe was this quick attack engine. Unknown spec other than a Ford F550

Also on the ramp was this 2012 IH - Pierce 1250 - 500 CAFS #25627 Engine. The on duty crew said this engine has been in the shop more than in service.

Next we were on the stripe for the rest of the trip. And well to say getting a good shot of any Clark Co rig is a challenge. It seemed every time we stopped at a station every rig left on a run very soon after we arrived.

First up is Engine 11

The truck pulled out as we were walking up and I didn't get a shot of it. The engine crew noticed they had a low tire and took it to the tire shop when we arrived.

Next up is Rescue 12. Rescue 12 was at station 18 for training and they left as we arrived.

Engine 18 was at the academy for the day so as soon as we got to the station Rescue 18 and Truck 18 went on a med call. I later found truck 18 on a pre plan detail.

And as we were walking away rescue 218 got a run. Station 18 is the department headquarters and has 3 rescue (Ambulances) a Truck and Engine. Im told station 18 is usually the busiest station.

And last was the newest rig in the fleet. It is only a month old. Squad 32 2016 Ford F450 - Spartan ERV.

This rig is a test for the department, Since the cost of ambulances is about $250,000.00 they can get these for about $150,000.00 since the rescues dont transport unless AMR who is the transport agency in the area is not available.

Sorry for the inside station pic but my camera stopped auto focusing and it was at night i had to use my cell phone.

Great shots. I did not know that Rescue 32 was a non transport unit. I will have to stop by there in the next couple of weeks. You have gotten a lot more lucky than I have recently.
