Nice additions Dave! Really like those new Smyrna engines.

Let me know the next time you get down my way. Vidalia actually just put their new ladder in service and retired the American Engine 1. Neighboring Tattnall County just re-structured their department as well and has led to 13 new substations and a handful of used apparatus bought and gaining a new life.

Will do.  There are still a number of rigs down your way that I want to get.  I'll let you know.

On Saturday, Dan and I headed south to the Macon area.  For those not familiar, the Macon - Bibb County FD is one Department that operates from two budgets.  They cover everything in Bibb County, including the City of Macon.  Stations located in the City are numbered 1-12 (no Station 4) and those outside the City are 101-110.  All truck companies use the term Aerial and they are numbered 30-37.  The first four are quartered in City stations, the other four in county stations.  Apparatus come from several builders and are funded by two different budgets, so standardization isn't a priority.

There is only one, Aerial 32.  It runs out of Station 8 on Mercer University Drive.

Our last stop on Saturday was Perry, GA.  We went there to photograph their new Rosenbauer Commander pumper that carries a 65' Snozzle, but it has not yet been striped and lettered.  We did not know abouit their brush rig until we arrived.  Both apparatus are a change from the previous white/red paint scheme and represent the local school colors.

Our weather here lately has been crap, but I was able to get out and shoot one rig today.  This was a reshoot for me.  Back in the spring, I shot this one on a Metro Atlanta tour with several out of town guests, but it was not yet in service and did not have the company number plates in their holders.  Under those holders is a large ugly yellow "OUT OF SERVICE" sign.  This shot is a bit nicer!

Today was a nice day in Georgia, with blue skies, plenty of sunshine and me with plenty of free time.  I decided to go shoot a couple rigs.

This one was a reshoot.  My earlier shot was taken a few years back, but late in the day and there was a shadow that makes this one look much better.

This one is also a reshoot.  It was formerly Engine 5 and had the same shadow issues in the previous shot.  This one is better.

This was the primary target of today's venture.  This is the replacement for the Sutphen tower that failed last year.

So why two different paint schemes on two 2014 rigs for the same department?
