I don't know if any of you are in to train photography, but I certainly am. I love shooting trains, especially my local commuter railroad here in Metro NY, Metro North Railroad.

Here are some of my photos, some of them taken today.

I'm very proud of this shot, I've always wanted to add a real Sperry car to my collection, and on my photo hunt today, I shot this one at a siding in Hastings.

As always, all my train and other photos can be seen on my photo gallery, http://www.x635Photos.com

Amongst my other train photos today, here's Metro North's GE Genesis #206 at Yonkers Station, 1:17 Local to Poughkeepsie with a track change to Track #2.

And finally for my train photos from today, a CSX Duo heads northbound through Yonkers. Notice the notch which allows it to clear the third rail, thus enabling it to travel in Metro North terrirtory.

And I can't forget my favorite type of train, the Metro North Bombardier M-7, seen here arriving in Irvington, NY on the Hudson line this past summer.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. There are a great many of us "cross over" buffs who like both fire apparatus & buffing and railfanning!

Thanks again

PS

Love the 1197 shot!

Ok, so I'm into Planes, Trains and Automobiles (fire trucks) as well. Here are a couple of recent shots. First is a northbound Amtrak heading to the West Palm Beach Station photographed a couple of months ago. Oh, great topic by the way. Even if it is a stretch for the FirePix site. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I caught this one on the spur of the moment. It's a northbound CSX behind the Kennessaw Trains hobby shop in Kennessaw, GA. Great place to hang out. I was there twice last month for 30 minutes each time and 3 trains went by each time. Besides the hobby shop which was great, there is a Civil War/Locomotive museum across the street.

Being one to catch beauty in many things, I like to catch scenery shots as well. This shot is of the same stretch of track as the one with the CSX engine just above. This is about 300' north of where the last picture was taken. Only thing that would have made it better was if a train had rounded the corner as I was standing there.

Georgia-Northeastern Railroad runs a small line and is based in Tate, GA outside of Atlanta. In addition to running some freight, they also run the Blue Ridge Mountain Scenic Railroad from Ellijay, GA up to McCaysville, GA. Although the appearance of the rolling stock is pretty shabby, it's a nice little country setting. Here are a couple of photos of their stuff.
