Looking for ex-Norwood Ma Maxim Foam Truck - Guest - 10-12-2006

Last told it was owned by a Fire Explorer group somewhere in the area for Central Massachusetts.

Looking to see if it is available for restoration/parades.

Thanks

Dunno where that Maxim is but the Fire Museum of Maryland has Norwood's 1928 Seagrave. It was restored by someone who had it before the Fire Museum got it and it is marked "SFD", but it was Norwood's.

Norwoods foam unit used to be Hazardville's in Enfield, CT. They had 3 F model Maxims at one time, the last one is sitting in a field in town with the motor torn out of it.

According to my records, Hazardville got Engine 2 in 1965 and Engine 4 (The foam pumper) in 1966. Just to be clear, Hazardville sold their foam pumper to Norwood later on? Just want to make sure before I change my database. Thanks

This is true, Engine 2 was re-powered at some point and served until 1996, it had a 750 pump. I don't know much about Engine 4 the foam pumper, but Engine 2 was sold to a local construction company that works on many of the water mains and hydrants in the area and was using the truck for its pump for a while. Eventually the company took the motor out of it and it still to this day continues to rot behind their facility in Enfield.

Is this the rig without the motor? Rig looks to be in restoreable condition. Can't you just find a motor for it?

CBX- The owner decided to basically let it go, condition wise, also tried unsuccessfully to dismantle the turbo, its a shame, he didnt come across as a perosn that shouldn't have had it in the first place, its that bad, the pictures dont really give you the full jist of how bad it actually is. Theres 2 more shots for me coming up to get a Maxim foam truck. For 2500 dollars this one is out of the running.
