10 Engine taken a year and a half ago. Hopefully they are actually stationed in a firehouse by now.

Yes, E10, T13 and A10 are all back in the firehouse on Florida Ave.

An advantage of stainless steel - Engine 4 in the 3400 block of Brown St., following collision with Truck 9, 16[sup]th[/sup] and Oak St. NW;

What does a steel and aluminum bumper have to do with Stainless Steel??

Maybe he is just saying it because the cab and body are stainless. But yes you are right the bumper it self is just steel.

Does Washington D.C. take the roto rays off of their older out of service or spare rigs, and put them back on their new rigs? Seems like a logical idea to save the $3,000 it costs for one... asking only because I have seen quite a few photos where the roto ray is missing, and only the round chrome arm is still on the truck.

Trav!

DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 03-05-2012

The individual companies have to buy the rotorays. Seagrave had it wired up and the mount was there but it was up to the company to get it. I wonder how long that will last with this Chief taking away company pride.

All the new engines, rescue squads, and tillers came delivered with new roto-rays. Anything previous to that had to be purchased by the company.

That's a beast compared to the DC foam units I've seen in the past.

DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 03-12-2012

I know thats where the old foam unit was housed but will foam 2 be permanently placed there? That thing is a beast!

DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 03-12-2012

Did Foam 2 finally go in service?

DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 03-13-2012

Does this replace anything or is it at the house with Foam 1, TAU 1 and TAU 2?

DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 03-13-2012

It replaced the Amertek crash truck that Foam 2 originally had. The old Foam 2 has been gone probably at least 2 years though.

DCFD Photos, old or new - 68mack - 03-14-2012

Foam Unit 2 is IN SERVICE and has been for about 2 weeks but still goes to the TA for training. She is a tight fit in the firehouse note the bollards that were placed and the concrete curb protectors had to be cut for it to fit.

Alrite DC guys. When I was down the other day taking pictures, I was on S. Capitol St. SE in the area of S. 1st St. SE. Just below E33/T8. There was a huge brick school building. To the rear of it were 3 fire trucks. There also was an entrance marked fire department entrance. Anybody know what this is? The (3) rigs there were Truck 388 - 1997 SGRV X-T6, Engine 69 - 1999 E\-One X-E1, 29, and Truck ? - E\-One 110' Single Axle. I'm guessing X-Truck 15. All still retained their DCFD markings.

2 engines and 1 truck are now listed on govdeals for auction.

Ain't this the sad truth. This guy is a disgrace to the fire service, I saw the result of $6,000 of taxpayers money hanging on firehouse walls. I would have loved to have made a copy of it, laminate it and stick it in the commode. Glad I don't work there anymore. No doubt I would have had a line of DCFD (Can I say that?? lol) Brothers waiting to use the bathroom.

Good luck to the DC Brothers. I miss the guys, not this crap (pun intended....)

Stay safe, Brothers.
