Actually, on the red/white & blue EMS units- RED numbers signified Medics, BLUE numbers were for Ambulances. Also, the medic units had "-^v^-PARAMEDIC UNIT-^v^-" on the sides.

Prior to that paint job, we had white ambos with a single red stripe, and the number on them would have a line "30"under it, along with red neighborhood text "CAPITOL VIEW". Prior to that, we had orange striped ambos. They had a similar arrangement with orange numbers "21" And they were the first units to have neighborhoods on the sides "ADAMS MORGAN" Prior to that, the orange striped medics had "MEDIC * UNIT" on the side, and that was it. Before that was stars & bars paint, those units didn't have the same number assigned to a different type of level of care- IE: A10, M22 & Rapid 28 were assigned to E30/T17. Follow all that? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/computer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Computer' />
