I just caught this crappy shot of Rescue 2 outside my apartment about an hour ago. I am wonder what's the reason for with the "custom" Rescue 2 sign over the rescue 1 number? Did R-1 Get a new rig or something?

Thanks in adavance

That sign is probably covering "Haz Mat 1" on the rear doors. This rig, I think a '02 E\-One Cyclone II, was replaced by the new Seagrave and is probably a reserve now.

DCFD Photos, old or new - Guest - 09-05-2006

Ladder 68 has it right. The rig in the picture is the former Hazmat-1, which was a kludge of a new Cyclone-II cab and a rehabbed E\-One rescue body of former RS-1. This unit was only in service as HM-1 for a short time, serving between an ALF demo, and the current custom Seagrave.

Thanks for posting these shots. They are motivation for me to get the rest of the roster for my own collection.

You can spot Engine 11 coming a long way off with all blue lights on the Roto-Ray.

Wonderful shots Ahrens Fox! I always loved that old 3 stars/2 bars paint scheme. Got any others you could post?

You're seeing things in the window.

There is no NEED for Roto-Rays, thats why we pay for them out of our pockets, not with tax dollars.

Wow, an old pic of Rescue 4.. Still no chance of Rescue 4 getting reactivated anytime soon, I guess?

Stars and bars sucked. Always reminded me of Crackhead Marion Barry.

Though considered "buffy", the roto-ray is a very effective warning device.

E-25 was one of 2 E-1's, IIRC. E-16 got the other one.
