RE: Oaklyn, NJ Mack B/American LaFrance 100' TT Aerial.

The rig was ex-Philadelphia Fire Department, a 700 series trailer rehorsed with a Mack B tractor. The PFD purchased 4 Mack B Tractors in the early 1960's, and replaced the 700 series ALF tractors. Oaklyn purchased the rig after service with the PFD, rehabbed it, and put it into service in the late 1970's. It was replaced by the ex Allentown, PA Mack CF/Maxim tiller ex "3 Ladder", which Oaklyn bought in the 1980's at auction, and used until recently. Both rigs are now privately owned by collectors. I'm sure more info on this rig is out there, and corrections are welcome. I also do not remember the roto-ray on the bumper when it was in service at Oaklyn. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/3_12_21.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='3_12_21' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Captain.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Captain' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/stirpot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Stirpot' />
Here's the X-Allentown,PA.;Oaklyn NJ Mack CF aerial just before being judged at the York Co.,PA.convention in Wrightsville on 8/15/09. Does Scott Mattson remember posing this at the 1993 Rose Tree,PA. muster? <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

This is all that I found from Camden NJ
Frank, the ladder in top photo in this post looks like it is Tampa Beige and could be an 85' 700 Series from Elkins Park in Cheltenham, PA that was eventually sold to Falls Twp., Bucks County.

Good stuff, Scott. I saw the "parts" ALF sitting in the rear of the firehouse back in the spring.

This truck is now owned by Ken Boughter of Mastersonville, Pa, he has had quite an assortment of apparatus. He orignally owned the 1975 Mack CF that served Engine 83 in FDNY, he bought it from the Marklesburg Fire Department in Huntingdon County, Pa. He put alot of work into it making it look like it did at FDNY and than someone broke into the building where he stored it and stole it. It was never recovered (they are pretty sure it was sold for scrap), he than bought the 1984 Mack CF that formerly served FDNY Engine 84 from the Rutherford Heights, Pa fire department.. he still has that one. After that he bought a 1984 Mack Aerialscope from the Allentown Fire Department (it was new to Allentown) but than wound up selling it to the Midway Fire Department of Enola, Pa to replace thier 2006 KME tower that they were unhappy with. After he sold the Scope he bought this tiller from the Oaklyn Fire Department for the meager sum of $6,000, what a nice piece and find for him. Unfortunutly Ken has stomach cancer at the young age of 27, so he deserves all of the good things that can come his way.
