A 2018 E\-One Rearmount TL. RE: FDIC 2018 - chief60 - 04-19-2018 Anyone hearing anymore rumors about manufacturers being bought? FDIC is a good place to make the assignment. The rumor is that Rev is going to buy Spartan, or at least their emergency vehicle business and their RV chassis business. In a press release two days ago ( http://www.fireengineering.com/articles/company-news/2018/04/rev-fire-group-mike-virnig.html ) REV announced they had hired Spartan ER's VP of Sales, Mike Virnig. I don't know how if that means anything one way or another about Rev grabbing Spartan but I thought it was interesting none the less. HME Ahrens-Fox will be introducing a new cab called the AF-1. HME is also announcing that in recent months they have added a total of 15 new dealers. Seagrave will be showing off the new articulating water tower as well as the Capital Cab. RE: FDIC 2018 - CAPTFBFD - 04-19-2018 I heard E\-One may be showing off a new cab as well. RE: FDIC 2018 - ff168577 - 04-19-2018 Someone said Pierce wanted to buy Seagrave or buy the rights to the aerialscope! RE: FDIC 2018 - TacSupport1 - 04-20-2018 Besides the items mentioned above, I honestly feel this is going to be a very quiet year. I don't think there will be any truly major announcements, and it seems that most major manufacturers are quite busy with orders, while others are still trying to see where they fit in with all the mergers. I think the biggest changes we will see this year will be technological and other upgrades to existing products. One of our 3 new EOne Metro Rearmount's (Ladder 24) will be present instead of TL3. After the incident involving the hydraulic failure of TL10 (operating the Pierce MidMount spare, former TL17) it was determined that we need the new TL in the city ASAP. Also word is that an emergency purchase was/will be made of an identical unit, making TL10's KME a dedicated spare and disposing of both Pierce MidMounts. RE: FDIC 2018 - CAPTFBFD - 04-25-2018 Skip, Any word on the cause of the failure? RE: FDIC 2018 - TacSupport1 - 04-25-2018 I like the new AF-1 chassis from HME. It's a big step forward for them to offer a larger cab, which I feel will bring in more customers. I'm sure between Motor Squad, Minuteman (local dealer) & Pierce they'll figure it out, however as far as I know it will never be put back into service. RE: FDIC 2018 - Will - 05-03-2018 Did anyone else stop by the Eone booth and look at the 2 top mount pumper? Those things were massively tall. I can see them being difficult to get up on when in bunker gear. |
