Does anyone have any info and pics of these depts trucks? I've seen a couple pics of both and they seem pretty wild. I can't seem to find much info on how or why they were speced they way they were.

As I recall these rigs were designed by Larry Stevens, who had the notion that if you spec based on the ISO book you get a rig that is both practical and will result in a net decrease in taxpayer assessments if it lowers the ISO rating, which justifies the higher purchase price.
Here is the cached version of the old ISO Slayer website, if you scroll down to the bottom it has profiles of different rigs they designed, including these two departments. I remember seeing these rigs in a lot of publications when they were delivered. I wondered how well they would hold up given the size and complexity, but if they are still in-service 20+ years later that says a lot for them, especially given their extremely heavy weights.

These were made by Darley, just 10 miles from me. Every so often I drive through the lot there and look at the rigs. I have several friends who work there as well. When these were being built, I had the pleasure of watching their build progress. These rigs were huge! Two remote control deck guns? That was unheard of in 1994. 1500 and 2000 GPM pumps were considered a waste, too big they said. Lots of things on these rigs that were oddities back then have become fairly common nowadays.
