Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - atlanticfiretrucks - 02-09-2016 Shortly before 4am on February 8th, Saint John Firefighters were called to St. James St on the city's West side for a structure fire with people trapped.  Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke and fire conditions from the rear of the building.   Upon striking a 3rd alarm, crews were pulled from the building due to possible structural collapse and deteriorating conditions on the 2nd level.   Units assigned on the initial alarm were Engine 6, Engine 1, Engine 8, Quint 5, Fire 3.  2nd alarm companies included Rescue 4, Fire 2, Fire 1, 3rd alarm brought in Engine 7, and Tank 8 was requested to bring Unit 87 (air supply unit).  One person was pulled from the building, crews were unable to initially find the victim in the rear due to the building being renovated into different apartments.   Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - atlanticfiretrucks - 02-09-2016 The rear of the building where the fire originated.     Saint John's Chief and Deputy Chief overseeing operations     Crews entering the room where victim is located     Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - atlanticfiretrucks - 02-09-2016 Interior conditions start to worsen     Crews are advised to evacuate the building     Interior crews exiting with victim in stokes before room flashes over     Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - atlanticfiretrucks - 02-09-2016 Room begins to flash over, crews forced to exit     Flashover     FF knocks down bulk of fire     Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - atlanticfiretrucks - 02-09-2016 Quint 5 (using spare Ladder 7) setting up a water tower to knock down fire through roof     Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - CCFR-45 - 02-09-2016 Nice shots!   Thanks for sharing  Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - southwheatland514 - 02-12-2016 http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/saint-john-apartment-fire-1.3438171   Link to a news story about the fire (I was curious how the victim fared) Feb 8/16 Saint John, NB 3rd Alarm w/Fatality - Guest - 02-23-2016 #4 is a terrific shot.
