Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 Its a long time since I posted on this group, so thought I best give you guys something interesting to look at. During June eight friends and I took a 10 day vacation to Germany and Denmark for the prime purpose of buffing. We visited the Interschutz exhibition at Hannover (which has already been covered on these boards) before spending time photographing apparatus in Germany. We then drove up into Denmark for a few days as we had arranged to shoot apparatus at a number of locations. First up, Padborg - a volunteer station just over the border from Germany. This is a Mercedes 814 Pumper dating from the mid-1990s. Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 The second pumper was also a Mercedes, a 1222 4x4 version. Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 Brand & Redning literally translates as Fire & Rescue. Nearly every station in Denmark has a Water Carrier, they dont tend to use hydrants very much and most of the country is veral rural. This is a 1992 Mercedes 1824 which was a former fuel truck. Denmark - CCFR-45 - 08-01-2015 It really is amazing the difference in fire apparatus over the world. Thanks for sharing. Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 2012 Mercedes Sprinter Personnel Carrier. I have a good few more to post, so you guys will be interested to see how different apparatus and departments operate. Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 Next stop was Tonder, a coastal town near to the North Sea. Again, this was a volunteer station. The Chief himself came in and moved the apparatus..... probably something he regretting doing! First up - a Pumper based on a Scania P94D chassis. Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 Next up - the Ladder, based on a Scania P94D-310 6x2 chassis with Bronto Skylift F32RL (32 metre) booms. As the Chief was moving this vehicle out he caught the back corner on a wall and smashed the rear lights and scuffed the paint! We were mortified but he was completely casual and was more concerned that the Ladder would not make a good picture!!! Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 Water Carrier - based on a Scania P310 chassis and carrying around 12,000 litres of water. Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 Light Rescue Vehicle used for MVA's and such like. Based on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis. Denmark - Guest - 08-01-2015 This a Logistical Unit based on a VW Transporter van chassis. Denmark - srq2009 - 08-01-2015 Great shots! That seems high on a single axle that's almost 3200 gallons. |
