On midday Friday I caught a worker at 541 S. Monroe Street.  It was a vacant with a lot of debris and collapsed inside. Engine 14 arrived and took a line in the front.

They didn't get too far in when one of the guys got caught in the debris. The other cews guys got him out and Battalion Chief 3 pulled everyone out to exterior operations.

It burned pretty good inside and extended to the second floor and both sides and at one point went through the roof. It was contained in 30 minutes and brought under control in around an hour. No injuries.

Mostly smoke when I arrived. There was heavy smoke from the first and second floors, never any fire blowing out anywhere!
