Yes, unfortunately it wasn't a BMW. This was a rental. The driver was sleeping in her house across the street, "unaware" that a 2 alarm fire was taking place across the street. About 1 hour into the fire she came out and asked if they could remove the hose because she had to go to work. The reply: you're going to have to call your boss because you're not gonna make it.

I HAD JUST SHOT 2 OF WILMINGTON'S ENGINES SITTING ALONG THE STREET (POSSIBLY A TRAINING SESSION) WHEN THEY CAME OUT AND LEFT ON THAT CALL.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.................. But I think that it's actually harder to smash the windows out and feed the line through the car, then to just throw it over the roof.................. I've been an engine chauffer for over 11 years in 2 different engine companies that each do over 4,000 runs a year, and have never thought to do this in the heat of the battle......There's other way's to hook up......

I agree with Marc. Would it piss me off to have a car parked in front of the plug I wanted. Yes it would but why cause unneeded damage to the car. Throw the LDH over the car go under the car if need be. Why risk your supply line dragging it over broken glass?

Ring up another vote for "No". While it makes for a good photo op, it isn't usually your best (or fastest) option. It's more important to establish a rapid, reliable dynamic water supply for your crew inside than to send a message to a dumbass civilian who probably won't understand it anyway. About any way you do it, whether under the car or over the hood, the offending car isn't going anywhere until you say so, and even then it's taking a citation with it.
