So, from what I have gathered from reading posts, the GWB Engine is staffed by cross trained Fire Fighters and Police Officers? What if any Medical Training do they hold? WHat all quipment is carried on the Engine and how big is its tank?

PA Police might have EMT training and several are Paramedics. in NJ they don't operate any ambulances but at JFK Airport they do operated a BLS ambulance with Paramedics in a serperate response vehicle (SUV) provide by a local hospital the works in the 9-1-1/FDNY system. The PA also employs Bridge and Tunnel agents who operate the tow vehicles at the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels and the George Washington Bridge. PA Tow trucks do more then tow, They have fire suppresion capabilites as well. The B&T agents also operate the Fire Suppresion units at the GWB. The ARFF trucks at the three major airports (and Teterboro, a general avaition facility in Northern NJ) are operated by PA Police Officers with officers on patrol who respond to the crash site to perform ARFF duties.

Thanks very much for the information seems like a unique and neat operation!!!! that Engine is pretty sick too... Looks to me like a Tanker Engine with a Rescue body... does it have pre plumbed hydraulic lines for extrication and all that too?

It's about time, no reason that some of the busiest airports in the US don't have the best fire protection, and that doesn't mean police officers who have no interest in firefighting, or worse, aren't trained to be firefighters (which is apparently what the PAPD was caught doing during an FAA inspection, using police officers as warm bodies when their arff trained officers weren't available). However, I find it comical that the FAA fined the Port Authority $3.5 million, which will be paid with our area's taxpayer dollars. At least if the money was used to help set up the new fire dept would make sense, but why would we do anything that makes sense.

Actually, dont believe the rhetoric in the media....  You are incorrect in that the PAPD was caught using non trained ARFF officers covering posts... The "violations" involved training documentation at JFK airport but NO operational issues. The "non trained officers were fully trained ARFF personnel but were not properly documented due to several issues... All four airports successfully completed their annual rigorous FAA certification inspections. There is much more behind the scenes, including union busting and power struggles.. All 4 airports maintained and continue to maintain full operational ARFF....
