The Wilmington Fire Department has placed into service a 2016 Pierce Arrow XT 100' TDA, identified as Ladder 2. Members were out doing some training on Super Bowl Sunday. Not the greatest weather day for pictures, but that season is still a few months away. For some reason the front left of the truck is being cut off on the web page view, if you click on the picture it will open the full picture.

And lastly the new Ladder 2 patch that is on the tiller door. The new truck replaces a 1998 KME TDA that will be disposed of. Ladder 2's 2006 Pierce 95' mid-mount tower will go into reserve as Tower 3.

With all the apparatus moves and operational moves that Wilmington has made over the past few months, several engines have been reassigned. One of them is Engine 6, which now operates a 2012 Pierce Dash CF 1500/750/30f. (ex Squad 3). Not the greatest shot, due to the way they were parked. Engine 6 was supplying Ladder 2 during training.

The plan is to return to all red on new purchases, no plans to repaint anything current. There are 2 new engines approved in the current capital budget, but it is unknown when they will be ordered as of yet. They will also be all red and tentatively assigned to Engines 1 and 5.
