Rockville,MD. Mack collapse unit
#1
I'm sure some on here are familiar with the history of this rig, supposedly the 1st roll-off POD design in the US.

My questions are: what was the actual in-service date?

An ex-MCFRS and Rockville VFD member says I either have a faulty memory or bad info.

What is this rig's current status?

Thanks for any assistance...

It is still in service, soon to be replaced by a COG purchased tech rescue box truck. The only pods being used are the trench and confined space pods. Not sure on the in service date, I'm sure Cosgrove will know.

Doc I may shed some light on this although I lack specifics. I have it as delivered in 1988 first kept at Station 3. Either that year or in 1989 it went back to Mack (I presume) and had tandem rear axles installed. Upon return it is placed at Station 33. Goes to Station 31 upon creation of the US&R Team ca 1992. As I suspetced it will be replaced soon. Corrections additions welcome. -Rusty
