Rather late posting these. Had a computer problem.
The first of 3 fires, (Don't they seem to come in threes?) was at 18:49 at 2621 SE 174th Ave. Since Station 31 is at 1927 SE 174th, they were way ahead of the other companies. I expected to see nothing, but they saved a little fire on the first floor for me.
Only time for that one shot before they hit it again.
The Batt. Chief wanted a picture of this before they ripped the shingles off.
At 2300 or so, I woke up to my pager with a box for an apartment fire not many blocks away, but it turned out to be food on the stove by the time I was halfway there.
The 3rd fire of the night was around 0415, March 15. Dispatch received several calls for a fire around 85th Ave. and Brooklyn St. The fire was at 87th and Brooklyn and the police reported a house, maybe two houses fully involved. It turned out to be a rear porch heavily involved. When Engine 11 arrived they stretched a pre-connected 2-1/2" line and knocked it down fast.
Checking for hot spots with the TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera).
They found one.
