A couple more minor modifications at the fire station yesterday. I converted the front red Whelen halogen fashers to strobe, installed teh Mar 888 light in the front, and painted the trim rings around the wheels blaxk instead of grey.

What happened to the opticom? Are you going to keep the eng(0)2-2 on the front?

I have the Opticom off trying to get it repaired so it will function. Hopefully I can get it working and back up there.
Rick,
As far as the running boards go, I haven't decided. Several people think I need to go ahead and make them green. If I do it, I will probably go with color matched Rhino Liner and not paint. We'll see. Gotta build some of the discretionary funds back up!!!
Just out of curiousity, what do you think??

Loo,
Its a sharp looking rig. Reminds me of the KCFD 1970's Seagrave's. KCFD had them painted the wrong color (lime) but they had the MARS 888 and Federal Q mounted just like yours with the siren speakers on the bumper. The Rhino Liner is a great idea for the running boards. I watched you videos the Detroit sounds great, you don't here that much anymore the classic fire engine sound. I always liked the blue outline on the gold leaf it looks sharp on the red paint. Glad to see you got a rig for the Local to use, should provide some great PR. Keep posting more photos.
Side question is the ALF Century Tiller still on the MFD roster?

It is still here as a reserve. Not sure if someone is in it now or if it is at The Shop. ALF tractor paired with a Pirsch trailer.

Are you keeping the strip?

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.

You mean the stripe? Currently yes. I may change it later, but it is currently gonna be worth more time and money than it is worth to me.
On a side note, I have a Seagrave bell that just got done being re-chromed at N.E.L. in Philly. I will put up some more pics after I get it installed.

Robert, sure is looking good Brother.
Was the front strobes off in the video?? I didn't see them as I ran it over several time.
I for one which believe she would look great with the Memphis Green on the running boards.
I know this is hitting your wallet pretty well. Is the local helping out? How is 'mama' handling this??
Maybe you could load her up with hose line and put her behind the 34's regular piece and run as a two piece! I bet beas would like that!!!

A few more modifications:
Got the bell back from NEL in Philadelphia and installed. All that's left is getting some chrome caps for the bolt heads.
Also got the deck gun mounted and serviced.
I am waiting on getting a price back on getting the running boards painted and getting the old painted letters off the front of the cab.
Here are a few pics.

Noticed this rig in a movie that I was watching last night with my wife. It was featured in "My sisters Keeper", Staring Cameron Diaz and Jason Patric (Didn't want to watch it, but felt bad cause I haven't been home all week).
The only MARC in 46 ENGINE!

We're working on re-doing some of the gold leaf lettering on an engine at work. When we had the graphics lady come out she basically told us that it was beyond repair and that we should just take it off. She told us that all we had to do was use Easy-Off oven cleaner and that the gold leaf and sign paint would come right off without hurting the paint. You might be able to use that trick for your truck and save the money that you were going to spend doing that.
