A couple of weeks ago (9/22) I attempted to make the PA State convention in York, PA and had some major problems. She has been at the repair shop getting the transfer case repaired. It was a very sad day for her as she had to be towed. This is going to be major repair needless to say EXPENSIVE. She should be back on the road soon though. Both of the rigs are registered for the Philly Fire Musster on 10/14 - We will see which rigs if either will make it as the Semi-open also needs front tires.

Concur, no Mack looks good on the back on a tow truck. Sorry to hear about that Chris. Will be good to see pics of her from the Philly Muster if she's ready in time.
On 10/16/07 I picked up the engine from the repair shop after having the watercooled transfer case rebuilt. This was a major expense. I am pleased to have it back on the road. It is with regret that the cause of this failure was my fault but nothing could be done about it cause I had no knowledge of the transfer case being watercooled. It was solely cooled by water off of the pump. If I had knowledge of it being watercooled their was still no way to drain it so it was setup for FAILURE from day one. The cause of this is that she is exposed to the winter temperature last winterand with no drain the oil was displaced by the water off of the pump. The transfercase is no longer water cooled so this failure will never happen again. THANK YOU!

On 11/17 I travelled to Willow Grove PA (1st owner of the rig) to help them end their 100th Anniv. On 11/18/2007 Willow Grove attended the Hatboro PA Christmas Parade with the old Engine 1003 in tow (No Pun Intended).

We even had our own santa. With this addition and having to pick up a club members relitive we had Paraded through their community with santa on top of one of the engines. Well to top it off for the year. Dec. 16th thru 31st the engine sat in front of the house causing traffic jams and the neighbors looked at her decorated for the season. All had appeared to like it!!

Here are some of the stats for this engine for the year of 2007. The 1974 MACK CF-700 travelled 2032 miles with 77 hours clocked burning approx 377Gal of Diesel going to 19 events. Other then the transfer case issue no other major mechanical problems occured.

On March 16th 2008 The Dillsburg engine decided to come out and show it Irish pride. Here she early in the parade line-up. As you can see it started out as a rainy morning but by the time parade kicked off the weather was nice.

On April 5th the engine went down to the Martin L. King parade in wonderful Annacostia DC in support of DC Firefighters Local 36. This was also the weekend for the IAFF Jerry's Kids Boot Drive.

Sorry JAWS But on the way home I had to drive through your local alarm to get home and noticed that the sun was just right for this in front of Nationals Park in DC. Spring cleaning has started on the rig with some minor updates to bring the hint of Willow Grove back in her.
