Vacant School-Baltimore 3-Alarms April 6, 2016
#1
Around 12:30 this afternoon units were dispatched to a reported school in the 1300 block Division St. in west Baltimore.

Units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the 2-story 150 year-old school.

Former Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall attended this school as a child from 1st to 8th grade in 1914-1921.

I arrived to find white smoke and thought it was about knocked.

Truck companies were attempting to open up. Everything was boarded up and cemented up pretty tight!

By this time the working fire and second alarm were struck out and Command was set up in the front:

Within a few minutes all hell broke loose and heavy smoke was throughout the whole structure:

Backing down from Truck 1's aerial. Companies set up on the rooves of the adjacent dwellings and put all of the ladder pipes in service as fire broke through the roof.

This is all for now until I edit over 300 shots!!

It took about 3 hours until it was placed under control.

No injuries were reported.

Well done narrative along with great photos. Looking forward to see the "grand finale", as I'm sure there was one. Smile
