Looks like Pierce won a fleet replacement project for KCMO:

28 pumpers

4 rescue pumpers

9 tower ladders

3 tillers

3 heavy rescues

1 hazmat rig

Pierce Announces Order for 48 Custom Apparatus from the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department

On the other side of the State on Tuesday, St. Louis voters failed to pass a bond referendum that would have resulted in the purchase of new pumpers, quints, rescues, hook and ladders and ambulances as well as some additional refurbishment of several quints. Will be interesting to see how St. Louis will replace their aging fleet.

Wow on the order. And not surprised at all by the vote. These very rarely pass . To me it is nothing more than a way for the city leaders to kick the can down the road by placing the blame on a vote they knew would have no way of passing. Has to be a better way for cash strapped cities to aquire much needed equipment replacement. The places that need it the most traditionally have tax payers who have had enough and will never support overides.

Got to see a ton of the Kansas City units this week. All of the engines are underway and about 5 of the towers. Also, the first tiller and heavy rescue are under construction. The tillers will have an aluminum aerial which will the first I was told.
