1958 F.W.D. Model F-725 750GPM/500GAL
#1
My toy: 1958 FWD Model F-725 (SN F80438) 750GPM Waterous/500GAL. 140GZ Waukesha/5 Speed Spicer Trans. Purchased by the Bryn Athyn Fire Company (Montgomery County, Pa. outside of Philadelphia) and delivered February or March of 1958. My father, Sam, a member since 1957, was a junior when it was delivered.

1968: Bryn Athyn takes delivery of a 1968 Hahn 1000GPM Pumper. FWD sent to Hahn where a third discharge is added to the driver side panel. Hahn also rebuilds panel, hence the Hahn-appearing pump panel.

Roughly 1976- Dad took me on my first firetruck ride to a parade in Bridgeport, Pa. I was about 3 and a half.

In July of 1978, sold to Harrisonville, NJ (Gloucester County, NJ.) Replaced by 1978 Hahn 1250GPM. SEE "BUCKS COUNTY FIREMANS ASSOC. PARADE, QUAKERTOWN PA." THREAD for pic of the FWD and the Hahn.

Mid to late 90's. Harrisonville performs an in-house refurbishment. New tank installed. New steel in all compartments installed. Rewired front to back. Much work (which was badly needed) done to truck. Truck painted from original 1957 Chrysler Tango Red to the current ALF-Style Maroon.

Late 2001 Harrisonville decides truck no longer fits their operation. Rapidly growing community needs new modern pumper for their fleet. I discovered it for sale quite accidentally, and made offer. I understand that the membership of Harrisonville voted overwhelmingly to sell it to me, a member of it's original company.

June 6, 2002 Truck purchased by me.

June of 2005, my older son goes on his first parade in Quakertown, Pa. with Grandpa, too!

June 10, 2006 Younger son goes to first parade on FWD with Dad! Older son with Grandpa on 78 Hahn that replaced the FWD!
