3rd Alarm Littleton, CO 3-30-15
#1
Monday afternoon Littleton & South Metro Firefighters were dispatched to an apartment fire at 5425 S Federal Circle.  First due Engine 11 found light smoke showing from a first floor unit on the Alpha/Delta corner.  The crew advanced a 1 3/4" and quickly knocked a bathroom & utility room fire.  Once they started opening up more smoke & heat was found extending upward, prompting a 2nd Alarm.

Smoke started seeping from everywhere... Even the far side (Bravo Side) from where the fire originated.  Tower 32 went to the roof.

Tower 32 positioned on the Bravo/Charlie corner.  There was pressurized smoke showing from roof vents across the building.

A Charlie Division was established with a second water supply and several companies to enter the rear apartments.

There was plenty of tough work to go around.  Here companies on the Alpah Side advance more lines to the 2nd & 3rd floors to open up.

As it turns out... The fire spread horizontally from the far Delta side to the far Bravo side through a void space between the second and third floors.  All 16 units on the upper levels had fire extension, prompting a 3rd Alarm.

Here is a vew from the Charlie side as another line is positioned.

Safety 33 makes a radio "face to face" with the Charlie Division from a third floor balcony.  Fire in this unit was extending into the attic.

I love #12, except for the un-straight left side. I guess all our lenses do that.
