I have not been on for a long while, so must apologise for that.

Currently I am in Portugal, and if you have been watching the news, there are fire raging here.

I thought I would post some photo's of the typical firetruck they use here, like the ones you would have seen in the news.

I do not collect details of the trucks, I just shoot the pics, enjoy.

As usual, I always get a warm reception the the firehouses, and always get permission to walk around and take the pics, some of the firemen actualy converse in english a bit.

Like most fire departments, they like to keep some older museum pieces.

The town of Monchique, in the 1920's, the local mayor's wife drove a cadillac, and when she died, he donated it to the town.

A  garage turned this into the towns first firetruck.

Like the USA, the ambulances are run with the fire dept.
