Submerged Car, Aurora CO 8-29-14
#1
Friday evening a family moving in a U-Haul truck was towing their SUV near Colfax & Quentin when it came loose from the trailer.  The vehicle jumped a curb and traveled downhill into a storm water pond.  Aurora Fire responded but are only equipped to handle surface rescues, so mutual aid from South Metro was requested.  The SMFR Dive Team arrived a short time later to hook the SUV for the tow truck.

Empty vehicle hauling trailer and the roof of the SUV...

Growing fuel slick on the water.

Aside from losing their car... They lost all the contents packed tight inside.

Moving is stressful enough, sad to have to add that on top of it all.

Good practice for the dive team though. Nice pictures.

Thanks for sharing.

Good stuff. I like the not typical rescure photos. The diver walking out of the water is great.
