LAFD did a Stand By during a LAPD SWAT Operation to take a "person of interest" in 3 different homicides this morning in Los Angeles. LAPD SWAT took the person into custody without incident.

Fill me in with the running gear LAFD uses.....their jackets look very thin. Are the liner taken out? It is hot, why have it on?

Those are the brush jackets used by LAFD they're not nearly as heavy as a structural turnout coat.

Nice series of images.

 

We've recently placed TECGEN coats in service at work for brush fires and the like.  1/4 of the weight of structural gear and NFPA-approved for both brush fires and technical rescue?  I'll take it!
