Tom Sutphen passes.

Just wanted to share the sad news that a great fire service innovator has passed with the loss of Tom Sutphen yesterday. A great man and a good friend for many, many years - he will be greatly missed. Condolences to the Sutphen family.

So sad to hear the news. I met Tom back in 2009 while on the road with the Code 3 for a Cure Foundation and got a tour of his "Toy Barn". He truly was an innovator, not just in the apparatus industry. May he rest in peace.

You are right, Tom was a VERY good man!!

 

I last spent time with him in October, and even though his health was failing...his mind was sharper than mine ever has been. He could tell you with the utmost detail about each and every step along the way as he and Bob grew the company.

 

He will truly be missed, and never be able to replace him.
