CLARK COUNTY FIRE DEPT OPEN HOUSE
#1
Today was one of the Open Houses for the Clark County Fire Department here in the Las Vegas Valley. This month the open house was held at Station 21 at 5015 W. Oquendo Rd off of Decatuer and W. Russell Rd. It was a great time and some very nice pictures.

As I parked my car this is what i saw when I got out of the car.

Engine 21 was hooked up to the hydrant and they had a line off to allow the kids to play with the fire hose, with a firefighter from Truck 11 holding them and the hose line of course. The firefighter from Truck 11 looked like he was having a blast and I had the chance to talk to the man and he was a great guy. He even invited me down to Station 11 sometime.

Here is a picture of the firefighter that was on the tip with the kids. I did not take this picture but found it on the Department's Facebook page and they allow their pictures to be used. Credit goes to the original photographer.

Do you think he was enjoying his job today???? I do. BananaMan BananaMan

They even had a station set up inside the Engine Bays to allow the kids to gear up. I had to smile watching the kids put on the gear that we all have worn.

All of the firefighters that I saw were having a blast at this event. I was talking with one guy from Truck 11 and he said that his Captain is on Vacation today and came in to be part of this on his day off. The firefighter from Truck 11 even invited me down to Station 11 anytime I wanted to come down. By the way guys what is the protacal for visiting should I take a cake for the guys?

Up next is Engine 21 which is a 2005 Pierce Quantum. Great looking rig for being 8 years old. The guys also said that they keep a rig in front line service for about 8 years.

I second that.  It was the former Haz Mat 24.
