Our Fiscal Year 2015-16 Budget (Starting July 1) provides funding for the following items:
Brand new Engine 17/Ladder 7/District 7 Firehouse: To be built next door to the current house, closer to Winter St. Current house to be demolished upon completion.
Brand New Engine 42/Rescue 2/District 9 Firehouse: Current firehouse to be razed, companies to be relocated during construction (Rumor is R2 to E52/L29, D9 to E39/L26 & E42 to stay on site in a trailer).
Extensive (Multimillion Dollar) renovations to Engine 50 & Engine 33/Ladder 15.
Hopefully this is only the beginning! Last new firehouse built by the City was E28/TL10 in 1984 (Both E10/TL3/R1/Div 1 & MU1 were built by developers in exchange for the land on which they sit)

Commissioner Finn met with E\-One two weeks ago. We're negotiating a price, but it appears going forward that we'll be moving away from KME Aerials & going back to E\-One with their Metro 100' Rearmount. I need to learn more about it, but based on the spec sheet, I like it. Shorter wheelbase, lower height, stronger aerial. The desire is to return to an entire E\-One Ladder fleet. The first trucks scheduled to be replaced are the four Pierce Rearmounts, currently assigned to Ladders 7, 11, 19 & 21.

That looks like a great city truck. Has that flashback look too as far as the older e one boston trucks. Gotta say, there is a huge market for the numbers in those specs. Overall ht. Is awesome. Jack spread is grt.

I believe they were both due to be finished around the same time and delivered to the dealer either together or 1 shortly after the other. From what I was told, that was due to happen at the end of this month but that's always subject to change

I haven't been working at HQ lately so I haven't gotten a chance to speak to Peter, our head of Motor Squad. I'm back down there the beginning of August & will find out what's going on then.
I've spent the past few tours as an Acting Lieutenant at Engine 50. Bids are being solicited for the work at their house. They expect to be relocated to E32/L9 while the work is ongoing, but don't expect any work to commence before the Spring of 2016.

Skip can confirm, but I believe I read on one of the sites that they have ordered 3 of the E\-One Metro 100' trucks.
