This evening, while on the way back from a personal errand with a friend, we stopped for fuel off a local exit in Boonton, NJ. We noticed a couple police cars whiz by us, and were able to get a few shots of the MVA they were responding to.
The smaller SUV "t-boned" the Suburban at the back drivers side wheel, as you can see that wheel and axle were both snapped. I don't know the specifics beyond that, as the positioning of the cars and where they came to rest were confusing and PD was still attempting to put the stories together. This accident could have been a LOT worse, but it looks like the safety systems in the cars did their jobs. Both were late model Chevrolet SUV's, and their were only minor injuries. The Suburban had children in car seats that were shaken up but not injured.
