Not yet. Hopefully soon. I think it is fairly identical to Pattonville 4815. My Chief went to look at WesCo's new truck, he said some of its nice, but there are things he would definately have done differently to it. To each their own!

Our neighboring county purchased six 2100gwt single rear axle tankers about five years ago and has been having good luck with them thus far.

that looks to be it! I dunno if they rehabbed it but the last i heard the electronics got fried out! how they gonna sell that! I mean it looks like kirkwoods old piece, the striping, where the logo on the bucket used to be!

That definately IS Kirkwood's former aerial platform. I'm guessing that all of the damaged electrical equipment was replaced/repaired, since the rig was deemed by Kirkwood F.D. to be "totalled", thus the need for a new ladder truck. I'm also guessing that Kirkwood decided it was cheaper to buy a new aerial platform than to repair the old one??? I mean, I realize that the rig was about 7 years old when the accident occured, but was it really cheaper to buy a new rig than to repair the old one???

One of the Kirkwood Chiefs said they were planning on replacing the truck within a few years. They weighed their options, decided to replace it. The former Robertson 5025 is also for sale on Brindlee Mtn.

It may have been cheaper, up front, to repair the rig versus buying a new one. However, the unknown is the long term problems associated with a "fried" rig having "ghosts in the machine" for the remainder of its life time. Those costs, of chasing down constant problems, are very hard to calculate but may have also been a contributing factor for deciding to replace the rig instead of repairing.



A neighboring department to us has a '00 Pierce Dash 105' that was accidently put into power lines, ironically by the testing company performing annual certifications tests. They elected to repair instead of suing the company and their insurance for a new one. It was gone over a year and when returned hasn't been the same.



Just a thought.

I agree with ladder 68, it sounds logical. I really like Kirkwood's new piece though! Here is one that I know a BUNCH of you guys will love. I caught some county units in june at a fire. i got there late but had plenty to shoot! Here is a Affton in their reserve maxim!

The Mehlville Pierce Arrow engine is a Reserve. I believe that one is 1791. Possibly running as 1710 at the time of the pic. Where was that fire? Was it off of Union Rd?
