Did Chelsea buy the new Tower and Engine 2 at the same time? Both are really sharp looking and def much needed. I'd like to see more pics of the new Tower 1.

I agree that replacements were long overdue, and if there was ever a test of Pierce's durability, they'll give it one in Chelsea, between the amount they work and the miserable roads it'll be interesting to see how she holds up.

I tried for two days to get a shot of it ,but it was up aganst a wall and they were working on it the days I was out there [ 7- 20 -10 ] , then it was gone! Here is a tease.

Since I was on Stoughton before getting on DCFD I got to see this antique a bunch of times. I just asked the Stoughton fire history expert FF Donny Chipman about it for you. The current owner is the Town of Stoughton Historical Society. It is a 1928 Maxim that served the Town of Stoughton from 1928 until 1956. It was involved in a roll over accident in 1933 which ejected all 3 fireman riding it. I never really got a close up of it because the parade day driver's were always Fire Dept UNFRIENDLY Selectmen. The full restoration was done by a Brockton FF named Howie Briggs, then sold to Brockton FF Billy Donovan, before being returned home to Stoughton.

Bill Donovan also owned the Wakefield Reo Rescue at one point... Both Howie & Bill are missed very much..

I didn't know either of the Jakes, but I wish more people had thier interests and abilities when it comes to restoring and taking care of our fire service history.
