Next stop was Fork VFD where I had another never-before experience. When the Asst. Chief here realized I was shooting fire trucks all over Davie County, he got on the radio and started lining stuff up. He had FD's contacting him, begging me to come shoot their trucks. If I'd had time, he had about 10 stations lined up waiting on me. Unfortunately, it was 1830 hrs already and I barely had any daylight left. I told him I'd contact him again soon and come back to shoot the remainder of the FD's in Davie Co.

Ahh, I see you went to Fork VFD. I went to college with a guy who was on Fork or some department close to there. No shots from Mocksville?

Thanks Shoop! Believe me, I tried my best to get a pic of the WLF. It's been SOLD already <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> It's now serving Stanley Valley, TN which is way on the opposite side of Hawkins County from where we were headed that day. I have a contact at Stanley Valley, but I haven't heard from him about when I can come shoot it. For your records, it's now "Engine 1906" at SVFD.
Here's the last truck from Cooleemee, and the newest rig in the house. It's not even in service yet. They just took the old lettering off a few days before I shot it. And of course, the sun had to pop behind a cloud the size of Texas while I had to wait on the air to build up in this truck. Grrr....

Thanks for the shots Andrew, This truck is something you don't see every day. A commercial cab pumper with a hydraulic ladder rack. It's like the truck should have a Sparten custom chassis under it. Go Figure?
This was a surprise none of us knew about! Church Hill, TN bought both of La Plata, MD's 1988 Pierce Lance engines! It was quite a surprise to hear a Powercall rise above all the other sirens during a small-town Eastern Tennessee Christmas parade!
Not quite a parade photo, but here's a picture of Carters Valley's ladder truck. It was parked behind Station 2 and appeared to be very much out-of-service due to engine problems.
