I'm glad to see they went w/an F-series chassis on this go around. I never was a fan of E-series types when I ran there.

Great shots of the new tankers Mike! So, where did the former Tanker 605 ('06 IHC 7600/Pierce) go?

It is my understanding that old Tanker 605 is heading to Lovettsville to run as Tanker 612. When I was at Hamilton, I was told that may not happen. Hopefully some other firepic members who are a part of Loudoun can shed some light.

698 is in and is being prepared for service.

Squad 617 is not in but is close to leaving Pierce. Roto-Ray had a front end photo of it in his recent Appleton visit post.

The guys at Hamilton said they are going up to Pierce within several weeks for some final items on Engine 605.

If my memory serves me right, the original idea (or one of them) was to have the "old" Tanker 5 become a county ready spare......
Reply
TA612 would be a good idea(M/A to Frederick Co. MD), Then again so would TA618 (M/A To Great Falls.....)

Any idea where E698 will be kept? I know 699 is at 23.

The County has purchased/renting a warehouse facility very close to the current FS 23 in Moorefield (Ashburn). I believe there will be room to house county reserve equipment. I will let others within Loudoun County provide additional information.
