Sorry for the poor picture. It was taken from our Tour Bus on Dec 7, 2001.
I was in NYC to see a show.
Anyone have anymore info on this unit ?[/quote]
It is part of Fleet Services Division, and it handles small repairs on RMPs at the Precints. It handles small repairs such as dead batteries, broken belts, and other minor repairs that can be done on the street in order to return the car to service, without the need to tow it to a shop for repair.

Next are some pix taken 5 years later showing what's behind the comparment doors
Grease pencil firearms disbursal board showing what's in the vault that can be issued on the crime scene. There's an open shelf just behind the seats in the cab which contains two 'ready access' shotguns and ammo belts.
And the names of the PAPD losses. One of my co-workers had a nephew in the dept who was lost that day. There's an awful lot of memories, some outrageously heroic, most just sad and tragic. And the hurt in the eyes can still be seen behind brave smiles.
Can any one post or email me (hannity_Colmes@yahoo.com) a list of the Spe-Ops units that the NYPD runs as Emergency Services Units. I see alot of pictures of them on the web and on here but never know what ones are still in use.
