Here's the latest info on DFD, regarding truck company swaps and additions. As mentioned previously in this thread, DFD Truck 7 is running out of station 10. It is not "Truck 10", but still running as Truck 7 and was moved there because of remodeling at Station 7. On January 1, 2011, Truck 10 will go into service on an undetermined spare truck. Their new truck, a tractor-drawn aerial is on order and will be delivered sometime in 2011. Once Truck 10 is in service, Truck 7 will officially relocate to 56 station and become Truck 56. That will leave station 7 with an engine, booster, and rescue (ambulance). I believe that several years ago Truck 56 was relocated to station 7, becoming Truck 7. It seems it has now (or at least will, if all goes as planned) gone full circle. This information is the most recent that I have and, of course, subject to change. We'll see come January!

By the way, this is probably one of the very few additional truck companies added to any of the nation's ten largest cities this year.

Here is a shot of Truck 56 from 1982-taken with an Instamatic and cheap film.

This is a 1970s vintage Ward LaFrance. Engine 56 was also a 1970s vintage Ward LaFrance as I recall.

I do not have any info on either of these-perhaps Mr. Hansen or Mr. Knowles will help out.

Here is a shot of Sta. 56 I took in 1985 or 1986. The Ward LaFrance aerial there at that time had been repainted and had the updated DFD graphics and white roof. Still had the B&M mechanical siren on the roof <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wub' /> Don't know if it's the same one in the above pic from 1982.
