Last I saw of it, it was sitting at the city barn but was to be sold off. I have no idea where it might have gone. It was a 1986 LTI 1500/150/100' Platform as Ladder 91. It was rarely ever used and hadn't been staffed in several years. Here's a wrong side photo of it I got not too long before the County took over.

Mark,

I passed the city barn this past weekend and that 86' Platform is gone, must of been sold like you said.

Frank,

Where was this picture taken? I'm planning on a Key West trip in the near future, your back drop is incredible.

Thanks in advance.

This next picture is a treat! For those of you not familiar with Fisher Island or it's where abouts, let me give you a little tip. Located off the MacArthur Causeway between the City of Miami and Miami Beach sits a small terminal that allows you to take a ferry to and from the island. As I pulled into the station I noticed that the bay doors were wide open, no rescue but the aerial fixed inside... very welcoming! I meet with the driver, explaining what I do, showing him my small album and immediately he stops me and says... "These rich people are extremely strict about the "general public" taking pictures on the island, if you want a picture I can pull it out on the station property, but I really don't want to chance it else where"... at which I was more than understanding. Luckily the apron behind the station was long enough for a posed shot.

Thanks again, Ray! <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

I was stationed at the Coast Guard Base on Miami Beach in the early 90's, the bunch on Fisher Island truly live in a world of their own.

There's a Gem of a rig, I remember it being in the spare pool for a bit. Do you have any of the other telesquirt refurbs/remounts?

Thanks again,

John

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.

John,

Unfortunately I don't. The two other sisters identical to Aerial-42 above are stored at Support (Sta.13) in Kendall. Both are designated "Alternate Response Unit 1 & 2" which are used as quick change-outs when a front-line unit goes down.
