While this rig has the same appearance that a Pioneer III would have, I believe the registration number, S-5706, would indicate that this rig is a Spartan model. The Spartan model was introduced in 1976 as a low-cost alternative to the custom chassis, but with custom features. It was based on a GM chassis, not an ALF chassis. The similarities between the two models would make identification nearly impossible, except for the registration number.

Another great looking Diamond-T pumper from Bremerton/WA is this 1962 model with bodywork from Westland. It had a 1250 gpm-pump and a 300 gallon-tank.

A very early Ford C pumper is this 1957 model with bodywork from Howard-Cooper. It had a 750 gpm-pump and a 500 gallon-tank and was in service in Lynnwood/WA.

A very unusual truck is this 1973 Ford F-700 with Kidde bodywork, that was used from the Auburn FD/WA as a hi-ex-foam unit.

The last for tonight is this classic airport crash-truck. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport had this 1960 ALF 900 6x6, that was equipped with a 750 gpm-pump, a 1500 gallon water-tank, and a 150 gallon foam-tank.

Any of you guys have a shot of the following:



City of Corvallis (Benton County, OR)



1982 Duplex/Car-Mar, Cincinnati canopy cab, 1500/3000, cabinet style tandem axle tanker, 8V92TA, 475 HP, automatic, 6.5 KW Kohler generator. This was the first truck ordered with the new paint scheme, white over red. It was originally purchased new by the Po-Mar-Lin Fire company (Chester County, PA). It was housed on 8/7/82. It was out of service most of 1992 at Pierce having a new 4-door Arrow cab installed and additional body work at a cost of $282,000. It went back into service 11/1/92. In late 2002 it was replaced and sold to CustomTec Fire Apparatus of Canada (a dealer) for $75,000 who sold it in 1/03 to the City of Corvallis (Benton County, OR). It might have been destroyed in a accident in 2005.
