That'd be Squad 18 on West 10th Street.

The 49 at the Engine 6 Firehouse is the address of the building (49 Beekman Street). On a side note, I believe this was the former quarters of Engine Co 32. The company number was changed to 6 many many years ago. Can any FDNY buffs or personnel out there verify??

If memory serves me correct, I'm sure I read that the house was originally Engine 32, which was disbanded. Engine 6 moved to that firehouse when theirs was closed for new construction in the financial district. I think the info may have been in the FDNY commemorative annual.

Forgot the website, but I think both companies ran out of that house together till 32 was disbanded. 6's house was condemned or something, so they moved to 32. ran for a while till the company closure list came out, and 32 was gone. nothing like getting kicked out of your own house, huh?
Kill 'em all, let Allah sort 'em out. NEVER forget 9/11/01 WTC, Pentagon, Pa. Avenge the acts with NO mercy.

Thanks to ALL the Brothers who were there 9/11/01 and afterwards. Words can never say what appreciation we have for you all.

It figures that I'd make that idiotic mistake by not taking notes correctly when planning the trip to that station <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Banghead' />

Dug down and did some research(a few days late <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banghead.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Banghead' /> ). According to NYFD Engine 32 and Engien 6 ran together for two years and a half years(March 1970-November 1972) when Engine 32 was disbanded.

Oddly the station has seen three engine companies- it was originally built for Engine 7 who only stayed there for a year and a half before moving north to their current quarters with Ladder 1 in 1905...so at least one engine company has occupied the station in the last 103 years...

6's old house was where the Trade Center was. They moved in to 32's house, and they were supposed to be disbanded in 1972, but, as the story goes, 32's Captain at the time was not well liked by HQ, so they went instead of 6.

For all the people who are not old enough to remember this fire house is the one used in the movie Ghost Busters. Just an FYI.

The quarters of E33-L9 was the original quarters of Rescue 1 when Rescue 1 was formed back in 1915.
