The only Mid Mount CF 600 open cab ladder ever made. In 89 I think is when the full cab and added crew doors were put on by Maxim. Some time later it became Boonsboro ( Located in Washington County Md )Truck 6. Served with Boonsboro until sometime in 1998 when there new 1999 Pierce ladder was ordered.

Sold to James Island Sc sometime there after. James Island removed the manual trans and installed an auto. After running it for a couple of years it " Threw a rod ". After the motor "blew" it was parked behind James Island station 2. A member from Riverdale was set to purchase it with another person but the deal fell through.

Sometime following that Boonsboro offered to pay 5000 for the truck, and everything was set to bring the ladder back to Boonsboro but apparently the deal fell through again. Following that the orginial member from Riverdale who was going to buy it placed a bid on the truck for 2000.

After I guess looking at the truck in James Island or asking more questions it was determined that the motor was junk and would cost over 20,000 to replace it. After that I think it was put on govdeals.com and I dont know what has happened from there.

If anyone knows what has happened to the truck please let me know as this was one of my favorite trucks that was running from Co.6 when I was a kid.

Sorry for the long post but just a little bit of history on the rig for your files.

John, I was the member from Riverdale that almost bought the Mack. I was under the impression that the turbo was the only thing bad with the motor, after looking at it and talking to a few different mechanics I learned that it needed over 30,000$ in motor work. I tried to arrange transportation to get it to Md. but that was 10,000$+ also. After that I do not know what happened to it. I'd be willing to bet that it was scrapped. Such a shame. It was in great shape, still had the original Riverdale colors and even some tools with old Riverdale T-7 stickers on them.

Chad, couldn't you have just changed engines? As for transportation, that seems way to steep. I know of someone that transportated a chassis from Appleton Wisc. to central PA and it was less than half of what you were quoted. That is a shame. It would of been nice of you to get that truck on the road. I loved seeing pics of it as an open cab.
