Hoss, I beleive Canaan's new pumper is classified as a 2010.
Also this is Canaan FD in the town of North Canaan (named after Canaan Village which is in N. Canaan, The Town of Canaan is covered by Falls Village FD). Just in case anyone from out of the area was wondering.

Look's like Tracey's was towing DFD Engine 16. Dunno' what's wrong with it or how long it is going to be out, but East End Hose now is using one of New Haven's spare Pierce Arrows. I'm assuming its NHFD ex engine 4 or 6. Didn't get a good look in the firehouse the other day.

Does Cohanzie still keep their apparatus in such mint condition, immaculate and almost sterilized like they did back in the 1980's? I will never forget the engines from Cohanzie and the other Waterford companies Goshen and Oswegatchie at the parades in Unionville CT and Hershey PA 1982-83-84 and 1984-1986-1987-1988 respectively.

Mr. Dean....i remember when they were taken off the line a WEEK before a parade!! Oswegatchie's CF even had bulldogs painted on the under body and frame bolts. We in Glastonbury always asked if Cohanzie's were working pieces....lol!!!

Each dept is a little different down there, but there is still chop busting that goes back to when the would take the rigs out service to prep them for a parde. Politically/public perception wise don't think that would fly too much anymore, maybe a utility piece or the like. At the convention I overheard someone ask the crew of a nearly pristine ambulance if it was an in service and one of the crew said it had been on a call just one night prior. With enough time and dedication it is amazing what can be accomplished!

Thanks for the replies to my question about Waterford's companies. I know they appeared to not be responders, but he guys always said they were and I believed them. Closer to home for me is the Boonton NJ Fire Department, which has always kept their apparatus in mint condition but they do roll to alarms.

East Haven former Rescue 4, a Chevrolet/Horton, with boat. East Haven is responsible for about 3 miles of shoreline along Long Island Sound, and responds to several water distress calls annually
East Haven former Rescue 2, a Ford/Horton. This truck was purchased used from the then Branford Ambulance Association. The Branford Fire Department has since taken over the Ambulance service for the town.
