I thought I remembered reading that Truck 1 and Truck 2 (now Truck 3) were bought from the Pierce demo fleet? That might explain the difference in aerial ladder colors. Not for sure on that however.

This Christmas I recieved a 35mm film & slide scanner.

Here are some negatives I have tried out so far. Some are really old and have scratches on them. A lot of these shots were some of the first I ever shot and some my dad even shot before me. Most of these are dating back to the mid to late '90's



Engine 6, a 1987 Spartan FMC. Went to RE 69 in 2000. Junked Summer 2006.

Old 8 Engine 1990 Sutphen on a fireground at McCulloh & Gold Streets near old 25 Engine House.

Became Engine 33 for the filming of "Ladder 49" in 2003 and auctioned off in 2008. Anyone know by the way where this rig ended up or if it's actually been stripped down into a million pieces?

Engine 42 (Running RE 67) 1982 Hendrickson Grumman ex E 2 on a 3 Alarm fireground at Tivoly Avenue near Harford Road during a hot muggy June evening in 1998.

Reserve Engine 76 1974 Seagrave ex E 51 on the same fireground. Don't remember which engine co. was running it.

Next is old 12 Truck on a multi-alarm fire off Reisterstown Road in 1997 when they were running a 1982 Seagrave tiller which originally was assigned to T 4 and then when disbanded in 1995 went to Truck 18. T 18 had it until they were replaced with a new tiller and then T 12 recieved it and ran it till they were replaced in 1997. Then the rig was assigned to T 23 until replaced in 1999, then finally went into the reserve fleet as RT 37 only for a couple years and was disposed of around 2001 or 02.

Medic 17 with a 1993 Ford also on the same fireground.

Here is Engine 24, a 1990 Sutphen on a big brush fire at Armistead Gardens in the mid 1990's. The rig went into reserve as RE 70 in 2000 when Engine Co. 24 was disbanded.

Here is Baltimore County Reserve Engine 72, a 1978 Pemfab Oren ex Eng 5 on the same brush fire. I can't remember if the city was borrowing this rig or if the county actually mutial aided into the city. Either way I guess I thought it was an epic shot.

Reserve Truck 45 was this 1974 Seagrave tiller originally old Truck 9. Here it is being junked in May of 1998 behind the old Key Hwy repair shop.

Here is a 1978 Seagrave tiller truck that was totally rehabbed by Flamesco in 1998. It was originally assigned as Truck 20 and after rehab was assigned to Reserve Truck 39 as shown here. Truck 5 was using it on a medical call here on Harford Road and North Avenue in front of the Eastern District Court Building.

And last for now here is Engine 40 and Truck 12 in front of their home quarters in August 2000.

It appears the ladder brackets are broken, as it looks like they are tied on with a rope tool!

Yes Truckman I believe that was the case then of old 8 Engine. I remember a couple other engines around that time had the same issue. I think Engine 76 one of the others I just posted had that problem with its ladder. That's Baltimore City for ya!

Engine 44 when they ran a 1987 Spartan FMC. On the same fireground as T 12 and M 17 on Reisterstown Road in Northwest Baltimore City. This rig went to RE 70 in 2003 and was junked in Fall '07.

Truck 13, 1989 Spartan LTI tiller at Hollins Market in Spring, 1998. The company was disbanded in July, 2000 along with six others: E 24 (shown in post 969), E 3, E 19, E 128, T 7, and T 9. This rig was assigned to the fire academy as RT 44 the training tiller. The rig was disposed around 2002-03.
