1940 ALF Jox 85' mml

Quite a story being this rig. This photo is of it after restoration at Mill Creek Del.

In 1960 this ladder fell while operating at the San Georgio Macaroni Company fire. Between the damage done to the aerial from the heat of the fire while it rested on the brick wall

and what the wrecker company did to it while trying to upright the rig, it was considered destroyed. ALF took it as a trade in the replacement ALF they purchased. In approximately 1993, while My friend Mike and I where at teh Maryland State Convention in Ocean City, we saw this rig sitting, and he begin to tell me how this looked just like the old JOX they had, he had only seen some photos of it. We begin talking to the gentleman who was with the rig, and he gave us a similar description to it's fate, and said that their fire company was in need of a CHEAP ladder just a year or 2 after this fire. ALF Offered to fix up the old JOX for them so they would have a ladder truck. The rest is history.

Belive the Hahn was donated last year to a small fire dept. They tryed selling it for a long time and had no bids. Also the 68 lafrance was sold to camp strauss in Leb.co. Then sold to collector in central pa. The 77 mack is still in active duty in leb city today.

Frank, when and where was this pic taken? The reason I ask is that I've been attending the annual Port Jervis NY FD parade now 40 years with Matamoras PA FD hosting the 3rd division every year and I've never seen it. It sure would be nice to have it make a parade appearance. Port Jervis and Matamoras are neighboring towns separated only by the Delaware River which is about 1/4 mile wide at that point.

I hope someone might have details on this rig. It was owned by an antique collector and sat on route 422 right at the city line for several years. My friend photographed it shortly before I got into photographing rigs, it was gone.
