I found this old 700 series sitting in a field in Sierra Vista Az. last summer, within a few blocks of the Fire Spire I have posted in the Derelicts thread. I dont have any information on this truck, and I dont know any of the history.

I also found this ALF 700 series tiller in Sierra Vista Az. last summer, sitting at a truck repair shop. The mechanic told me they were getting it running for a private owner. I dont have any other information on it.

There are two pictures of this truck in a book by T.A. Jacobs titled The Fire Engine. The pictures are on pages 48 and 49 if anyone else has this book. The caption says that it is a 1948 and at the time of print was being maintained by the Goose Flats Fire Co. in Tombstone. Doesn't explain Why it Has M.F.D. on the cab though.

Here it is again. A current photo, taken (by me) on Oct. 7, 2006 at the Deer Park, Texas FD Parade. Chuck Buschardt drove the rig in the parade and the 10 miles or so to and from the parade. I rode the seat and rang the bell.
