Put into service last week. This 2010 Dodge is assigned to Squad 11 in Altadena.

Due to budget issues with the City of Inglewood, LACoFD has closed FS 172. The engine was reassigned to Engine 8 in W. Hollywood. Former E8 has been put into reserve status as E5152 @ FS 152. Former 5152 (a former Covina FD Pierce Arrow) will be auctioned off. Squad 172 has been transferred to FS171 & will still be known as Sq172.

I have seen a photo of E08 in a KME Predator, and not recently. Did this go to reserve, despite being relatively new, or the former '95 KME pumper at E08?

Larry,



The rig going into reserve is a '95 KME. The Predator that you may have seen, maybe here on fp, was really 208s acting as E8. It was parked in front of the station, iirc.

Inmate Firefighter's are Prison Inmates in the custody of the California Dept of Corrections, They are prisoners who have been convicted of a crime but instead of taking up space in a prison they are training in wildland firefighting and assigned to a fire camp run by LACoFD and the CDC

Some of the Inmates used to be Sheriff's Department inmates at one of the camps, or at least they used to be. Don't know if they still are of not. Anyone ???

The Sheriffs Dept no longer operates any inmate camps they closed them due to budget cuts, Camp 12 was taken over by LACoFD and made into a paid hand crew.

1) What is the current list of CAMP CREWS since the Inmate Camps are closed?

2) I have seen photos of a NEW 4 door Dodge Squad with "51" on the door... is this real or just another made up for a PR photo???

The Inmate Camps 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 19 are still open those camps are run by the California Dept of Corrections along with LACoFD, Paid Camps are 2,8,9,& 12.

Camp 12 was the former Sheriffs inmate camp that was closed and converted to a paid crew run by LACoFD.



The four dodge squad numberd as Squad 51 was for a PR purposes the current Station 51 can not fit a four door squad they are assigned one of the few two door squads.
