Boston MA 1968 Seagrave Diamond Reo tractor. Unknown photographer What happened to the Seagrave chassis?
It was worn out... they bought a few reo tractors and repowered a few of the Seagrave and ALF tillers with them...

Boston Engine 37 2010 KME Predator 1250/500
I thought I liked these new KME's but I'm torn. I'm glad they finally got new apparatus, but it just doesn't look Boston-ish for some reason. Maybe it is because the front of the cab is so plain and lacking any Boston custom work.

Roy, when are DCFD new Pierces expected?
We have 6 Pierce Engines that are rumored to be in production, or near completion. We have not heard any solid details yet on them, or where they will be assigned. The specs on them are slightly different from our current Seagraves. The Seagraves are the most user friendly wagons I have ever worked on. We also have 2 new Seagrave TDA's and 2 Seagrave refurb TDA's with new tractors in the works.

Curious - is this the first "bought new" rig for the Brigade?
I want to say yes, but will verify over the next couple of days.

Brian is the 1945 ward still down the shops?
There is an old Ward at 48/28 in the third bay upstairs. I am assuming that is it, but can't remembered if it is lettered.
I've been searching and all I can find are snippets about the Boston Fire Brigade / Engine 54.
Can anybody give me the run down about them (Staffing, equipment, run cards, etc.)? |
