Port Jervis NY - Tri State Hose Co. - 1890 Hose cart

[/quote]

Knowing the members of Tri-States Hose 6, they would love to get that cart back for their new firehouse if they ever get one to replace the firehouse they've had since being organized in 1890. The youngest of PJFD's companies now has had the oldest firehouse for a few years now.

That was a grand old engine. I did get to ride it several times on PJ's parade day going to line up and afterward to the site of their party. Tri-States and Butler FD have been great friends now for 97 years so before insurance rules got to be so fussy we'd ride on each others pumpers.

Port Jervis , NY Tri State Hose Co. - 1981 Contental - 1500gpm

That engine started out in PJ by getting broadsided by a NYSDOT snow plow. Then there were some other problems too but when the bugs were worked out the guys said it was a good engine for years. 3 of us from Butler made it to their wetdown after travelling to/from Elmira for the ALF 150 celebration in August 1982. By the time it was replaced by a Pierce in 2002, the Pemfab was all full of holes from a bad rust problem. It left for Missouri just before the annual parade in July 2002. Yes, I did get to ride it a few times, several while visitng on Sunday afternoons when they got called out for a pool filing detail and another to pump water from a flooded basement into the Delaware River.

Oceanside NY would be a good assumption. That looks like a Cortez parked along side of it and the neighboring Baldwin FD ran a Cortez as a rescue. Both departments are also in the same county battalion. Very unique rig to say the least.

yes that is Oceanside NY, it is parked in the lot at the nassau county Fire Academy for a county wide apparatus show, in the late 1970's - early 1980's. The Cortez parked next to it is Seaford's. I have a picture of it there. it was Seaford Rescue 2 (unit 685) from 1970 to 1982 when it was replaced after too many maintance problems started to happen. A few Nassau County Dept's ran Cortez as Rescue's/Ambulances for a few years

Here it is at the 2008 SPAAMFAA Muster in Syracuse, NY. It will most likely be making another appearance in 2011 when Syracuse hosts the national muster again.

I would love to see more pictures of Cortez Rescues run in Nassau County if they are out there.

Thanks,
